An Urgent Request to My President

June 16th 2014

445 Sunrise Drive East
Vista, CA 92084

Dear Mr. President,

Emotions stirred by the recent D. Day ceremonies prompted me to write to you about a pending crisis in America concerning those brave men and women that served in WW2 and Korea. The few that remain of the “greatest generation”, our parent’s generation, now need our help before they pass into history. Many of them are already weary of life and unable or unwilling to deal with government bureaucracy. On behalf of 3 million veterans, I would like to meet with you to discuss how we can enlist the help of a hidden civilian resource to avert this crisis. We can restore their faith in Government and at the same time, enhance the credibility of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The work has already begun through Veteran’s Friend. We are seeking your support for our mission to help senior wartime veterans obtain their rightful VA benefits.

Veteran’s Friend is operated by VA Accredited Claims Agent Fateh S. Dhillon (Robert), and Kate Seelye. Our Mission is to make a positive difference in the quality of life of all senior veterans by providing a free community service to inform and educate veterans, their families, and surviving spouses about a special Non‐Service‐Connected VA pension for which they are often entitled but fail to understand. Our call‐to‐duty and pledge is to help veterans navigate the VA process correctly, protect themselves, and obtain this tax‐free lifetime benefit by providing free assistance in the application of their claim before the VA.

Throughout its 12 year history, Veteran’s Friend has been singled out for helping veteran families throughout San Diego, Riverside and Orange Counties. It has stood as a beacon to warn and guard our senior veterans and widows against elder abuse practices by unscrupulous financial services companies that prey on seniors. We host free Educational Briefings regularly at our offices and other local venues. We also host other local events bringing our young servicemen/ women and older veterans together in a spirit of healing and sharing of their experiences. Because of its significance to senior veteran families, the kissing couple is our brand icon.

Accredited claims agents are volunteers and play an essential role in bridging the communication gap between claimants and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The task is daunting, with over 23 million veteran claims, demand for this service is enormous. With no external funding, we struggle to keep our service free while reaching out to more and more families in need. Our reward comes in touching and being touched by these veteran families, sharing their experiences and stories with us, making us all the richer as they become part of our family.

"To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan." ‐ Abraham Lincoln

In a word – Veteran’s Friend is Energy and Energy is neither created nor destroyed… only transformed or intensified.

My partner Kate Seelye and I have transformed this promise into a fire that we hope, with your help, will spread across the nation. Kate provides the passion, loyalty and precision support and I, the vision, grounding and Education. (I call her the Navigator, and I am the Educator. See TV News interview veteransfriend.com/news3.htm). In you, we seek the Leadership and Inspiration to widen our cause.

As the Commander in Chief, your support through awareness, acknowledgement, recognition, endorsement, logistical or monetary help would be greatly appreciated by thousands of WW2, Korea and Vietnam patriots. I am confident that any form of exposure through your office will help to get the word out to the senior veteran communities about how we can help them.

Alone, we are able to help only a few. Together, with combined resources and intensified effort, we can reach thousands of veteran families to inform and educate and to help them file successful claims. We hope this will also help to ease the claims backlog at the VA’s Pension Management Center.

Mr. President, please help us to keep this country’s promise to these weary souls. We stand ready for duty….. in their service, because of their service. Will you stand with us?

Honoring all who Serve,

VA Accredited Agent
